Daniel Avery is an acclaimed composer, producer and DJ who has shone as a singular artist and one of electronic music’s most forward-thinking voices. Daniel has earned a reputation for making music that is visceral and emotive, defying the genre’s sometimes aloof stance. The diverse textures of his music, now spanning ambient and hardcore alongside the steady throb of contemporary techno and his instinctive rock sensibilities, all strongly lends itself to a cinematic context.

“Gimmick free machine funk of the highest order” was mentor and friend Andrew Weatherall’s summation of Avery in 2012, his endorsement helping begin a journey that gathered much momentum soon after with the release of his debut album ‘Drone Logic’, now considered an undisputed modern classic.

DJing also remains a constant at clubs and festivals internationally - whether solo, often for marathon sets, or back-to-back in the company of like-minded souls including Helena Hauff, DJ Stingray, IMOGEN or Richard Fearless, a figure with whom he forms a partnership and party known as ‘Goo’, a Sunday afternoon service in reverence of all sounds psychedelic.

As a producer, his catalogue embodies a thirst for variety and his music has changed with each release—presenting as ambient-leaning one time, more hard-hitting at others—but a disorienting dreaminess has always been part of the equation. This natural inclination to create music with a sense of warmth and intimacy makes it well-suited for scoring film and television.
